PART OF SENTENCES
Every complete
sentence contains two parts: a subject and a predicate.
The subject is what or whom the sentence is about, while the predicate tells
something about the subject.
Examples:
1. Ayu
sleeps.
Ayu as a
subject and sleeps as a predicate
To determine the subject of a
sentence, first isolate the verb
and then make a
question by placing "who?" or "what?" before it. (NOTE: the answer is the subject)
Example:
1.. Ayu
sleeps at 9 pm.
Analysis:
The subject of the sentence à Ayu
(who or what being talked
about)
The predicate à sleeps at 9 pm
(what is being
said about the subject)
